Richard Friedland, MD

Dr. Friedland completed his fellowship in neuroradiology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was named “Teacher of the Year.” During his residency, he served as chief resident in radiology at Montefiore Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Friedland earned his doctor of medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Friedland served as past president/managing partner emeritus of his radiology group, Hudson Valley Radiologists, from 2010 to 2025. Dr. Friedland has been active professionally throughout his career. He is a past president of the New York State Radiological Society/New York Chapter of the American College of Radiology. He has served on the board of trustees of Health Quest Hospital System and Vassar Brothers Medical Center, served as president of the Medical Staff of Vassar, been active on numerous hospital committees, including quality, IT, clinical improvement, patient satisfaction, and credentialing, and served on the board of directors of a major nighthawk company. In December 2023, Dr. Friedland received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the medical staff of Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, hiking, and being outdoors. He also enjoys playing tennis and has reached the U.S. Tennis Association National finals twice.
